Room by Room Checklist

To help make your self-survey easier, it’s often best to work through your home room by room. This helps make sure you don’t miss any items and allows you to think about everything you’d like to move.

A good approach is to start at the front door and work through your property methodically.

What to look for in each room:

  • Furniture remember beds, sofas, tables, chairs, storage units.
  • Appliances; TVs, computers, kitchen appliances.
  • Wall-mounted items – mirrors, pictures and light fittings. Make sure to let us know of any high value items that need their own crate.
  • Items inside cupboards, wardrobes and drawers.
  • Some of the biggest items aren’t even in the home. Don’t forget to go outside and list; garden furniture, trampolines, playhouses, hot tubs, BBQ/outdoor cooking equipment and garden sheds.
  • Boxes and packed items. You will also need to let us know how many boxes you need. Check out our Boxes and Packing guide for more information on our box dimensions.

Things customers often forget to include:

  • Items in the loft or attic, garage or shed
  • Items stored under beds
  • Small items stored inside larger furniture
  • Bulky or awkward-shaped items

Please note: We do not transport flammable items such as paint tins or petrol for lawnmowers. Please ensure that all motorised garden equipment is fully drained of fuel prior to collection.
