London’s property market is set to fightback in 2022 after a turbulent time during the Pandemic. London has not seen the same sort of house price growth as the rest of the UK but that is set to change. According to recent property market forecasts from Savills, prices in the capital are thought to increase by up to 8% next year.

Since the pandemic began early last year buyers are not only seeking green spaces but are also longing for that sense of community which we all craved during the months of early lockdown. With this in mind we have taken a look at some of our favourite London areas which we believe have a real sense of community.

Islington

With the highest concentration of eateries in the UK, if you are thinking of moving to Islington it really is a foodies Mecca! Busy Upper Street is at the heart of it all and is home to more restaurants than any other street in London. There are lots of green spaces, like Highbury Fields, throughout the borough and the tree lined walks along Regents Canal offer a real escape from city life. There is a vibrant cultural scene here too including a variety of annual festivals as well as being home to some of London’s most famous fringe theatres.  This is a Zone 2 area, so only 10 minutes from Central London with easy transport links via three overground and two underground stations.

Camden

If you are thinking of moving to Camden then you probably already know it is one of London’s most iconic areas with a strong sense of community and diversity.  Home to the world famous Camden Market it is synonymous with creativity and culture. There are independent shops and cafes as well as award winning restaurants and fashionable pop-ups. Bars and pubs line the main street in Camden Town so you will never have to stray far for a drink! Once famous for punks it has experienced a period of gentrification from its more historically wealthy neighboring areas. Notting Hill

The area’s trademark Georgian terraces are now mostly split into apartments that sit around pretty garden squares. Richmond

Rightmove recently ranked Richmond as the happiest place to live in London and only the second happiest place to live in the UK! If you are thinking of making a move to Richmond then expect a village atmosphere within very easy reach of the capital. For those yearning for some vast green space, look no further. Richmond Park, the largest of London’s Royal park’s, boasts 2,500 acres of grasslands and over 600 wild deer. If you are keen for your own private green space Richmond offers a higher proportion of houses with gardens than any other London borough. Because of this, and it’s genuine village community, it really is the ideal setting for families looking to move out of the capital.
