Hotel Relocation Case Study: Macdonald Hotel Group

Hotel Relocation Case Study: Macdonald Hotel Group

Our team recently conducted an extensive hotel relocation for the nationwide Macdonald Hotel Group. The Oxford based hotel had been sold so all the furniture in the bedrooms and public rooms needed to be cleared and delivered to three different hotels in their group for storage.

The large relocation project was conducted over 11 days with a total of 17 crew, eight vehicles and a highly experienced move manager. Over 100 boxes were needed as well as 20 roll cages for delicate light fittings, oversized mirrors and countless glass covers for bedside cabinets. All fragile items were treated with the utmost care, expertly packed and wrapped by our team for transit and storage.

Due to the move being carried out in a hotel there was a very high number of beds to be moved, including many huge four poster beds. These oversized and bulkier items could not fit in the small residents lift so our crews carried all the furniture down the high, but very beautiful, sweeping staircases.

This relocation posed logistical difficulties as large numbers of different but very similar looking furniture had to be delivered to specific locations. Due to this there was a high margin for error but our crew and excellent move manager made sure this hotel relocation went without a hitch.
