Case Study: Christians Against Poverty
Clockwork’s Leeds branch recently conducted a large commercial relocation for Bradford based charity, Christians Against Poverty. The charity was set up in 1996 and supports individuals living in debt in the UK.
The 7000 cubic feet of IT and furniture was moved from one of the many old mills within Bradford to a larger, more efficient office space covering 42,000 square feet, across four floors. Clockwork’s IT specialists took a week to decommission and recommission the 250 desktop computers and dual monitors reusing 100 IT crates over the seven days. Heavy duty flight cases were provided for the safe relocation of the charity’s servers.
The move was carried out floor by floor using a colour coding technique. Staff at Christians Against Poverty allocated a colour to each floor of the building and all items were labelled and relocated accordingly. In addition to the IT team Clockwork had six removals operatives and two vehicles on hand to move furniture and boxes, including 20 desks, on each day of the removal.
The largest and most challenging of all the items to move were two oversized tables from CAP’s hub area. This proved challenging to strip down and move through the doors of the old mill building, but it was a lot easier to deliver them to the new, open-plan office facility.
