Residential Moves Case Study

Residential Moves Case Study

A couple contacted our Reading removals branch for an initial consultation as they were downsizing from their four bedroom family home to a two bedroomed cottage. It was their first home move in 25 years and they were concerned about the whole moving process. Plus, as they were moving to a much smaller property they wanted to make arrangements for unwanted furniture and household items to be stored, moved to new locations or recycled before their actual house move could take place

We agreed a removals package which included a full home survey and contents itemisation, packing, storage and furniture recycling in addition to the transportation of household items and unpacking in their new home.

A week before moving day, the couple’s prized items were packed, collected and put into storage. Several pieces of furniture were transported by our team to the house of the couple’s daughter who lived a village five miles from her parents, and we arranged for the remaining items to be collected by our partners Green Works, a charity who recycle unwanted furniture by supplying charities, schools and community groups who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

When it came to the day of the move, the work done earlier in clearing and packing meant that the remaining items could by packed, loaded quickly and successfully moved to their new home by Clockwork, allowing the couple to enjoy a calm and stress-free day while the move took place.
