Fashionable Features – Homes 2015October 7, 2015
What are the most important features you look for in a new home? We
had a look into some of the most fashionable and luxurious features for properties in 2015 and here is what we found….
Integrated Tech – No longer are houses just bricks and mortar but with advances in technology they are turning into something much more intelligent. Some new build homes now boast security systems controlled by phones and tablets, integrated floorplan light switches and wireless heating systems so you can turn on your heating while you are still at your desk to ensure a warm home after your commute!
Fire Pits – We might not be able to do as much al fresco entertainment as we would like in the UK but the latest trend of outdoor fire pits are certainly making the process warmer! Forget heat lamps suspended above a table and go for some natural heat! Cosy up in a jumper and huddle around a gloriously designed fire pit whilst roasting some marshmallows deep in to the winter months, every on trend garden should have one this 2015.
Luxury bathrooms – The bathrooms of 2015 are all about luxury and technology with sound systems, TV’s and cosmetics fridges. Investing in relaxing chromatherapy lighting and aromatherapy systems will keep your bathrooms bang up to date with rainfall shower heads, massage jets and sauna wood panels adding to the calming effect.
Butler’s Pantry – We are not sure whether Downton Abbey prompted this new (or old) trend but the Bulter’s Pantry is the latest “must have” in new build homes. Historically this space was comprised of a small hallway between the kitchen and living rooms but now it is designed as a standalone room off the kitchen. For your perfect pantry line the room with both open and closed storage with ample work surfaces, a large sink and lots of power points for juicers, blenders and your kitchenAid!
Wellness Systems – “Wellness” is the big lifestyle trend of the past few years, think alpine retreats and Bavarian spas. Make your house healthy with heat recovery ventilation systems that filter air continuously, lighting systems that utilize sunshine, edible gardens and natural swimming pools.
